Mirch ki sabji


Mirch ki sabji is a dry curry that is made with mildly-spiced chilli that can be served with either roti or rice. This is a very simple dish that is ready in less than 15 minutes using chickpea flour (besan), peanuts and a handful of spices along with chillies. Depending on your preference, you may or may not remove the seeds of the chillies. This easy and quick dish is perfect for weekday dinners. Do try it!


Green chilli – 6-8
Oil – 2 tbsp
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Hing – ½ tsp
Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
Besan – ½ cup
Roasted peanuts – ½ cup
Salt – to taste
Amchur – 1 tsp
Garam masala – 1 tsp


  1. Wash and clean the chillies. Cut and deseed them
  2. Coarsely grind the roasted peanuts and set aside
  3. Heat oil in a kadhai or pan and add cumin seeds
  4. Once it splutters, add hing and turmeric powder
  5. Add the chillies and fry them on high flame until they are slightly charred and gets some blisters over it
  6. Reduce flame and add besan. Mix well and saute for 4-5 minutes
  7. Add ground peanuts, salt, amchur and garam masala. Mix well
  8. Sprinkle a few drops of water, cover and cook until the chillies are completely done, around 6-7 minutes
  9. Serve hot

Mix well and simmer until completely done
