Wash and clean spinach thoroughly
Take water in a large stockpot and bring it to a rolling boil
Add spinach leaves and blanch for 2 minutes
Take the spinach out of the boiling water and immediately cool it down by pouring cold water/ice on the spinach. This will prevent spinach from overcooking
Let the spinach sit in cold water for 2 minutes
Place the spinach in a salad spinner and remove all the excess water. If you do not have a salad spinner, place the spinach in a colander and let it sit for 10-15 minutes so that all the excess water drains out
Portion the spinach as needed and place in a freezer-safe bag
Remove as much air as possible from the bag and seal completely
Freeze and use as needed
