Papdi chaat

Papdi is crispy fried dough wafers or crackers. These flat pooris are topped with potatoes, spicy yogurt, green chutney and sweet chutney.

  • 15-20 papdi
  • 2 small potato
  • ½ cup yogurt
  • 1-2 tsp red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp amchur
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • ½ tsp roasted cumin powder
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ onion finely chopped
  • ½ tomato finely chopped
  • ¼ cup mint chutney
  • ¼ cup date tamarind chutney
  • Thin sev for garnish
  • A few coriander leaves for garnish


  • Boil and peel the potatoes. Cut them into small cubes. Mix them with ½ tsp amchur powder, ½ tsp red chilli powder and salt to taste
  • Whisk the yogurt and mix ½ tsp red chilli powder, ½ tsp roasted cumin powder and salt
  • Place 6-7 papdi on a place. Top it with potato
  • Add yogurt, green chutney, sweet chutney on top
  • Add onion, tomato, coriander leaves and chaat masala
  • Garnish with sev and serve immediately
